If an electrical fire breaks out, don’t panic! Use a chemical fire extinguisher, turn off the power at the breaker if you can, and call the fire department, letting them know that the fire is electrical. DO NOT TRY TO PUT IT OUT WITH WATER.
I’ve gone through and replaced all the cartoons with their slightly cleaned-up versions, which were recently compiled in a small coloring book that we distributed at the Portland Home & Garden Show. They are still obviously done by an amateur, but an amateur who cares about improving! Enjoy!
Don’t ever pull out a plug by the cord! Always pull on the head of the plug itself to avoid damaging the cord and disconnecting the internal wires.
Since fire hazards like space heaters and ovens get more use around the holidays, be sure to test your smoke detectors (using the TEST button!) and replace the batteries if necessary.
